LOCAL OKC: Blockman's Chophouse

As real estate experts in the Oklahoma City metro, we spend a lot of time driving the scenic routes that connect our vibrant downtown to the charming outskirts. This April, we took a nearby detour down historic Route 66 to the town of Arcadia for a dining experience we’ve been hearing whispers about since it opened in November 2025: Blockman’s Chophouse.

Located just a stone's throw from the neon glow of the iconic Pop’s 66 Soda Ranch, Blockman’s is a masterclass in "rustic-meets-refined."

The Vibe: 100 Years of History

Blockman’s is housed in a rustic, 100-year-old building that the owners even describe as "kind of ugly" albeit charming. We arrived for our 5:00 reservation and were greeted by a staff that defines Oklahoma hospitality. While the building feels like a step back into the frontier days, the menu is firmly planted in modern luxury.

The Concept: Wagyu Excellence

For the uninitiated, Wagyu is the gold standard of beef, prized for its intense intramuscular marbling. At Blockman's, the focus is on American Wagyu—a 50/50 hybrid of an American-raised Wagyu cow and an American Angus, resulting in a Wagyu more palatable to Americans that isn't as overpowering as 100% Wagyu.

Another "hybrid" feature of Blockman's is that it's both a restaurant & deli. They feature a deli fridge where you can purchase their premium Wagyu cuts, pork tomahawks, shrimp, and even their signature sides to-go. It’s a dream for anyone with a high-end outdoor kitchen looking to impress at their next backyard BBQ.

The Experience: All-Inclusive Luxury

The ordering process here is refreshingly simple, especially for a high-end steakhouse. You choose your protein, and the price includes the full experience:

  • Complementary rolls with European butter

  • A choice of salad (we highly recommend the Wedge with its massive, savory bacon chunks)

  • Two sides

  • A slice of their famous chocolate or carrot sheet cake for dessert.

The Liquid Gold

We started with a round of cocktails that were as much a work of art as the food. The standout was the "Dirtier Than Your Search History"—a Grey Goose martini served with Queen Charlotte blue cheese-stuffed Castelvetrano olives. It’s savory, salty, and sophisticated. We also sampled a floral lavender infusion and a fruity whiskey drink that were perfectly balanced.

Later, we braved the menu’s heavy hitter: a 126-proof Old Fashioned. At $36, it’s a "rocket fuel" experience for the true whiskey connoisseur, but worth every penny for the bold flavor profile.

The Main Event: The Steaks

Our table sampled a variety of cuts:

  • 10 oz Center Cut Filet Mignon ($89): Exceptionally thick (nearly 1.5 inches!) and incredibly tender.

  • 14 oz Delmonico Cut Ribeye ($89): The perfect balance of marbling and traditional steak texture.

  • The "Off-Menu" Japanese Special ($109): This was the fattiest, most expensive cut of the night. While it was a buttery revelation, it’s definitely for the "advanced" steak lover. If you’re a novice, we recommend sticking to the filet or ribeye.

The Sides (We Tried Them All!)

Since we had a group of three and each entree comes with two sides, we were able to try the entire roster of their six offerings. The Beecher’s Mac & Cheese (using the famous Seattle cheese) and the Steakhouse Mushrooms sautéed in herb tallow (which pair well with bites of steak) are our recommended must-haves.The Rough Cut Carrots with brown butter and balsamic glaze were a table favorite as well.

The Verdict

Blockman’s is currently the most "premium" outing we’ve reviewed, with our total coming to about $450 for three people (including their most expensive steak and two rounds of cocktails that also included their most expensive cocktail). For a standard date night, you should budget about $140 per person including tip.

Is it worth the drive to Arcadia? Absolutely. Whether you’re looking to celebrate a home closing, impressing out-of-town guests, or just want the best steak within 50 miles, Blockman’s Chophouse is a crown jewel in the Oklahoma steakhouse scene. We’ll be making regular trips back—and we might just see you there!

Expert Tip: Go late. There is something magical about the rustic, "just outside the city" atmosphere as the sun sets over Route 66.
