Harvey Bakery & Kitchen isn’t just another lunch spot; it's a delightful fusion of Oklahoma City’s rich history and culinary craftsmanship, making it a must-visit for locals and out-of-town guests alike.

Located at NW 13th & Harvey, this bakery sits in a building with an automotive past—it was once a Chrysler showroom, built in 1947, just steps from the heart of Automobile Alley. As you walk in, you can almost picture the showroom floor and the window-lined finance office, now transformed into an open bakery where fresh breads are made daily, right before your eyes.

A stunning twin-curved staircase leads to the upper level, where car salesmen once gathered. Today, it serves as a study hub for medical students from nearby OU Medical Center. The floor-to-ceiling windows that once showcased gleaming cars now surround a spacious yet cozy dining area, filled with modern booths, tables, and soft couches that invite you to relax and stay awhile.

Your first encounter at Harvey Bakery is a feast for the senses—aromas of freshly baked goods fill the air, and the display cases showcase an array of mouth-watering treats: chocolate almond croissants, cinnamon buns, oatmeal chocolate chip (or raisin) cookies, chocolate ganache tea cakes, and so much more. If you’re there for lunch, be prepared to grab take-home treat on your way out. Trust us, you’ll want to.

Whether you come for a leisurely brunch or a late lunch, Harvey’s drink menu won’t disappoint. You’ll find both coffee and espresso selections, alongside an assortment of wine and cocktails like mimosas and mojitos. We couldn’t resist trying the mojito—refreshingly minty without being too sweet—and, of course, we sampled the coffee too (our favorite—a bold cortado), which did not disappoint.

Harvey’s menu focuses on breakfast and lunch offerings, with sandwiches, soups, and salads taking center stage. During our visit, we tried the chicken salad sandwich, the Italian Giovanni, and a chef’s salad. The sourdough (at least, we think it was sourdough) on the chicken salad sandwich was perfectly toasted and crispy, while the Giovanni was a treat for Italian sandwich lovers. Loaded with soppressata, mortadella, capicola, prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella on house-made focaccia, it delivered the right balance of savory and spicy, thanks to a flavorful red pepper spread.

If you're visiting for breakfast or brunch, and you have an indulgent sweet tooth, don't pass up the Harvey French Toast—more akin to a thick slice of bread pudding than your typical toast!

We can’t rave enough about Harvey Bakery & Kitchen—it’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back. In fact, we’ve returned a number of times since our first visit, and it's a favorite for catering events and meetings. Its combination of historic charm, welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food makes it a standout spot for any occasion.

Our only wish? That Harvey stayed open later than 6 PM and was open on Sundays. We’d love to linger longer and enjoy their wonderful menu well into the evening!
