On Saturday, November 5th, Flotilla & friends visited the Paseo Grill in OKC's artsy Paseo District for a special event. We celebrated Flotilla's owner & managing broker, Jennifer Arsenault's birthday! And because Flotilla was founded in November of 2020, Flotilla turned two as well!
Jennifer's long-time friends & co-workers, Rob McCalla of Celebrity Home Loans; Cassie Heiter of News 9; Matt Holder & Wilson Littlehead, owners of Quantum Digital Media; Krystal Ryder & Wes Kennedy, Flotilla's operations & technlogy staff; and Grant Cody, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission all surprised Jen with their appearance at the restaurant.
The Paseo Grill has an upscale ambiance, and prices aren't too high (typically in the mid-$20s and up). Its location in the Paseo Arts District make it a wonderful date night venue or location to show out-of-town guests the artsy side of OKC.
The Paseo Grill's varied & unique cocktail menu got us started for the night. The Blueberry Press is a fizzy cocktail that includes muddled blueberries, lemon juice & lemongrass, and Seersucker gin (which we substituted with Tito's vodka). The Lotus Bloom is a lemony, Limoncello (an Italian lemon liqueur), vodka, and Prosecco cocktail with hints of ginger & mint. For those looking for a traditional, old school drink, the Rye Old Fashioned is a take on the classic drink that adds cardamom bitters—really something to try if you're a whiskey connoisseur. But the favorite of the night was the Cucumber Club Special—a light, fizzy, cucumber vodka, lemon & lime cocktail. But we ended the night with a "dessert" off the drink menu—a chocloate margarita.
Of course we had actual food, too! The charcuterie platter, tuna tartare, and fried green beans were our choice of appetizers. Entrée selections included the pork chop topped with lemon Beurre Blanc (a wine & butter sauce), duck breast with raspberry bourbon sauce, grilled Atlantic salmon with smoked jicama & pine nut orzo, and the chili lime shrimp salad.
The service was amazing with our waitress' ability to answer our many questions regarding their drink & dinner offerings.
The Paseo Grill (and surrounding bars & art galleries) really makes for a great night out for yourself and loved ones or guests. Along with Paseo Grill, you can find plenty of other restaurants in the district along with art galleries, jewelry, pottery, and even comic & book stores.
